Recycle Left Over Veggie Scraps

Don’t Send Those Left Over Veggie Scraps and Pieces Down the Garbage Disposal!

Start or add to your garden by regrowing the raw left over veggie scraps from the meals you prepare. It might surprise you how many fruits and veggies you can grow in your backyard or inside your home from simple kitchen scraps you might have just dumped into the compost pile or down the garbage disposal.

Most root plants can be regrown from the tops of the plant. Start them in water until you see roots growing and then you can transplant the veggie in the ground. Turnips and beets can easily be grown this way.

Onions are easy to re-grow. Just cut off all be a 1/2 inch of the onion and put it in some good dirt. Green onions will grow in a glass of water. As the tops grow, you can snip off what you need and then just let them keep growing or put them in soil in a pot or outside. Garlic easily will grow from one clove into a new bulb.

Romaine Lettuce is fun and easy to grow. Cut off the lettuce and leave about 2-3 inches of base. Sit the base in water and let the roots grow. You can almost sit and watch lettuce grow.  Basin and Cilantro can be grown from stems leaving the leaves above water. https://www.planet-streamingnet/ https://www.planet-streamingnet/
